  1. This dish did not remind me of pierogies. The bottom layer of noodles got very chewy. I think it needs something in the bottom of the pan before placing the noodles. Maybe some of the butter mixture. The fat content is a little high for my diet also. I tried reducing the butter and cheese and did not serve with sour cream. It is rather plain this way. Maybe if I used reduced fat sour cream it would help.

  2. this is awesome! I should know I am the sister that brings a bowl with her most the time to cook outs to bring some of sis's food home...hehe. I love pierogies and this is wasier to make for a family.

  3. Very good. But we definitely didn't need 1 cup of butter.

  4. This was very good! Using a 9x13 glass dish, I only needed nine lasagna noodles which made two yummy layers. One cup butter was too much, IMO . . next time, I'll use 1/2 cup (one cube) butter. Also used 1 tsp. garlic salt and 1 tsp. onion powder . . will use fresh minced garlic next time.

  5. This was not exactly my favorite, but not really bad either. I followed the advice of another poster and put some of the butter onto the bottom of the baking dish which made the bottom layer of noodles soft, not rubbery. I wasn't crazy about the two eggs in the potato mixture, so I think I'll cut back next time. Thanks for an otherwise good recipe!
