I grew up with mom making this cake and it's so moist and delicious. Recipe must be at least 50 years old.

  1. Bring milk and marg. just to a boil and let cool.
  2. Mix sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add milk and marg. mix.
  4. Sift flour and measure out a cup.
  5. Add salt, flour and Baking Powder.
  6. 350* oven
  7. greased 8x8" pan.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. This is great with hard sauce.

If you want a tasty cake that's easy to make with ingredients you're likely to have in your cupboard, this is it. I was looking for a basic sponge cake that I could slice and spread with jam, and this fit the bill perfectly. It's a wonderful, simple recipe.
