Questions & Replies

  1. I made this for a dinner which had to be postponed. Can I freeze this? I’m concerned about the cream sauce separating. BTW, it came out delicious, and from what I can recall, very much like Lawry’s

  1. Wonderful recipe. I'm always looking for new uses for spinach. I also used fresh garlic and some nutmeg. This recipe is great with or without the bacon.

  2. This was a good recipe for my favorite vegtable. I like to fix it all different ways and I will keep this as an option. I like another reviewers idea of the nutmeg.

  3. Made this to go with steak tonight and both the husband and I liked it. I would use a bit less flour next time as I found it to be a bit too thick. Good taste though, and better after it sat in the fridge after I made it. We'll be eating it as leftovers for two more meals, and I bet the flavors will continue to improve!

  4. I do not know how Lawrys spinach tastes, but we enjoyed this. Loved the bacon in it, I added that the last minute so it would stay crispy. Used fresh garlic and added a grating of fresh nutmeg.

  5. I didn't cook the spinach before hand, just squeezed the water out of it and warmed it up after adding to recipe. I didn't have seasoned salt and pepper, and the family felt it was too salty. I would cut it at least in half next time. Loved the flavor with the bacon in it! I also used a Vidalia onion. Made for Cameraless Chef.

Tweaks

  1. I thought it could be a bit more rich and creamy so I added a few ounces of cream cheese into the finished pot. Perfect!!
