Very good recipe...tastes just like Lasagne Soup! I used bulk hot italian sausage, orzo in place of the mafalda pasta (I had it on hand)...I am adding this to my already huge soup recipe file and plan to make this many many more times! Thank you!

Sharlene - This soup is really good. My husband even gave it a thumbs up-after he looked at me and said "This really does taste like lasagna". The only thing different I did was put the stewed tomatoes and carrots in a blender so that I wouldn't have to chop the carrots up. thanks for the great soup

This soup is fabulous! So full of flavour and really filling. Here in the UK I have never seen Italian bulk sausages and I'm not quite sure what they are so I used chipolata sausages and cut them up before browning them. The only other thing I changed was to use red and green bell pepper instead of the carrots, because I didn't have any in and I usually have peppers in my lasagne, rather than carrots. ;) this is so easy and apart from chopping the vegetables not much work at all. I have to admit that I was surprised that it didn't really need any other seasoning, but all the flavours really blend well and the seasoning from the sausages, garlic and stewed tomatoes is enough. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing.
