A delicious, warming supper for winter that stretched a 350g lamb neck (bone in) over several meals. Paired it with colcannon (prepared with half cabbage and half chard and less butter) on some nights, and with brown rice on other nights.
Excellent winter choice for alternative to beef dishes. This blend of spices is excellent. Sounds like a contest winner.
This is EXCELLENT! Hearty, flavorful and delicious; and easy to throw together. I did not have allspice so I substituted with some ginger, cinnamon and paprika. I also added four potatoes because my son doesn't like sweet potato. This was perfect because there was more sweet potato for the rest of us. The aroma was intoxicating. I will make this dish again. Thank you.
We enjoyed this very much. The wonderful aroma reminded me of my childhood home. Thanks for posting.
Delish husband said only negative was not enough :-) thanks
Sorry but these are not the correct seasonings using in Jamaican lamb neck stew being a chef and half Jamaican myself your ingredients are way off
This recipe is excellent! Easy and delicious! The only thing I did differently was to put the sweet potatoes in 2.5 hours before the 8 hour slow-cook time was complete, instead of putting them in from the start, since I thought they would be too mushy after 8 hours. I basted the meat and sweet potatoes several times, as they were not submerged in the liquid.
