  1. I've now made these twice and my review is based on both tries. These are not cakey ladyfingers, rather a delicate crisp cookie that has that same delicate flavor accented quite beautifully with orange. My first try I followed the recipe as presented and the batter did not hold its shape and I ended up with wafer like cookies. So light, they even had little air bubbles that you might see in something like a tuile cookie. The second time, they were good enough to merit a second chance, I whipped the whites separately and folded the remaining ingredients in adding an extra tablespoon or so of cake flour. The second cookie (shown in the picture) did a much better job of holding the shape but was less tender and more crispy. Had the second batch with Mexican cocoa a great combination of flavors - chocolate and cinnamon from the beverage and orange from the cookie. JQ - thanks for the help on this one, I know it can be a challenge with adopted recipes.

<p>Well, in trying to make a few corrections on my about me page, I managed to delete all the banners I have had in the past. So bear with me as I try to rebuild this mistake <img src=http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/pp330/LadyBlueNose/Contest%20Banners%20-%20Feb%202010/05-1-1-1-1.jpg border=0 alt= />.<img src=http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/pp330/LadyBlueNose/Contest%20Banners%20-%20Feb%202010/beans3Participant-1.jpg alt= width=300 height=200 /><a href=http://i424.photobucket.com/albums/pp330/LadyBlueNose/Contest%20Banners%20-%20Feb%202010/beans3Participant-1.jpg><img src=http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/Sharon123CookathonParticipationSticker.jpg alt= width=406 height=111 /></a><a href=http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v51/tiggrr34/?action=view?t=HolidayOrnamentSwapTag2c-1-1-1.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/tiggrr34/HolidayOrnamentSwapTag2c-1-1-1.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <br /><img src=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2/kiwidutch/my3chefs2009final-1.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/Recipezaar%20Album/iplaytagin.jpg alt= /><img src=http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/Game%20Room%20Banners/AM%20Banners/ZaarStar-AMBanner.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <br /><br /><img src=http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/Animation6.gif alt= /><img src=http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/PACsticker-Adopted.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://www.satsleuth.com/cooking/Swap14.JPG alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/vjuhl/MEPcookathon.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/dcmac/dpg11.gif alt= /></a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
