Krum Kake

"I think this is a Swedish recipe. I got it from Wanda Luepke in the Peace Lutheran Cookbook, Echo, Minnesota. Baked in a Krum Kake iron and rolled on a Krum Kake tube. This is a favorite of ours made especially for the Christmas Holidays."

  • Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar to eggs and beat until light. Do not overbeat. Add vanilla. Blend in cooled melted butter, cornstarch and flour. Preheat krum kake iron on both sides. Iron is ready for baking when a few drops of water placed on the iron dance around. Drop about a teaspoon of dough on the center of iron. Cover quickly and turn the iron. Bake until light brown on both sides. Roll immediately on tube.

I retired two years ago and thought I would have more time to devote to baking and cooking - not so much. The time just goes by so fast. My husband and I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends and especially spending time with our three little dogs and one cat.
