Korean Grilled Meat on Skewers (Bulgogi)

"Lots of flavor, I have made this also using pork tenderloin. Soak the wooden skewers in water for half an hour to prevent them burning. Marinating time not included. Freezing the meat slightly makes it easier to slice it thin."

  1. excellent!i have my own recipe for this but i'm always interested in trying new variations. this is very authentic tasting and you definitely need to grill it because those charred little bits add to the flavor. i used tenderloin and marinated it for 1 hour. keep posting petsrus!

  2. Loved this recipe so much! The meat was very flavorful and super tender. Will definitely be making again!

  3. Served with raw garlic slivers, steamed rice and kimchi (or sliced pear for the less adventurous) with lettuce as an "interactive" dinner: DIY lettuce wraps! Delicious!

  4. This was exactly what my husband wanted, some real Korean Bulgogi. He was stationed at Osan AB, ROK for a year (1997 - 1998) and missed this dish. Thanks so much for a keeper. Oh we marinated this over night to make it an easy weeknite dinner. Thanks!

  5. Excellent flavor - I made the recipe exactly as posted, except reduced the sesame oil to one tablespoon, only to suit my husband's taste. Marinated the meat for about 3 hours before grilling. I will make this again, for Company next time! Thanks, Pets!

  1. Super Duper Yummy! These had a very good flavor. I substituted lemon juice for the Sherry since I don't drink alcohol. Very good! Did I mention Good? ;) Even my DH said this was a keeper!

  2. This is a delicious recipe - I marinated the meat for 4 hours and it was sure loaded with flavor. I used a shallot in place of the green onion. Served it with another Annaleis recipe#44688 Thanks Annaleis fora delish dinner

  3. Very nice flavour here.. I substituted powdered ginger for fresh and used olive oil and some sesame paste in place of the sesame oil (didn't have any). Served with white rice and grilled veggies for a great weekday meal. Thanks!

Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am a very beautiful cat as you can see if you look at the picture at the top of this page.... What??.. I am supposed to talk about you??? But it says here: About Me!! Well all right then ...... My mom is Dutch and has moved to England in October 2007, after living 15 years in the Netherlands with my English dad. They don’t have any human children and “created” their own family, which means I have to share them with Hannah, she is a 6 years old tortie cat, Abby the dog, she is a 9 year old Beagle, and a one year old black Miniature Pincher named Poppy, I refuse to tell you my age but I am a georgious lilac British Shorthair cat!! It is obvious she adores pets just by looking at her name she uses on Zaar (many on Zaar call her Pets or Petsie Poo), her name in real life is Annelies and that is a common Dutch name. My mom always liked to cook, but since she joined Zaar it got out of control, and it doesn’t help that she is disorganized. Printed recipes everywhere in the house, the recipe binders have got bigger and just between you and me, her hips too!!! I have lived in Holland all of my life until now, but they lived in several different countries/places:- desert and coastal Oman, up North and West in Holland, Vancouver-Canada, Aberdeen- Scotland and in Norway they lived in Bergen and Oslo. We have all moved together to England, as you can see I’ve already learnt the language! I heard her say to Dad that this is the last time she moved to another country...she's had it with moving from one place to another! ( its her age...she's getting grumpy) Mom is 55 years old but I always hear her say that the date of her birthday does not mean that much to her, the date of her cancer anniversary is more important, because so far she is a survivor. Besides cooking she has other interests too, crafts, gardening and soap making. She likes Zaar and is one of the hosts on the German-Benelux Forum here on RecipeZaar. She would like to thank everybody who tries and comments on the recipes she has posted on Recipezaar, your feedback is very much appreciated.
