This is the best marinade for the Korean beef ribs. The meat is cut in a style called flanken, across the ribs to make the marinade go deeply into the grain of the meat. This recipe was tweaked by a Korean market and my observations from my ex Korean mother-in-law. This recipe works for 10lbs of meat
- Cut green onions into 2 inch pieces.
- Pulverize the pear.
- Mix all ingredients and add beef.
- Marinade for 24 hours.
Very good marinade. I used an apple instead of a pear. I think the Sprite makes a noticeable difference to other recipes I've tried. It's a keeper.
Nice addition of sprite to help tenderize
Wow! That's what the entire family said when I made the Kalbi using this recipe. I did add an inch of ginger and used mirin for the rice wine. Was only able to marinade it for approx 2 hrs. We were on Whidbey Island WA when my husband volunteered me to cook dinner for almost 30 people and no Korean market on the island! Thanks for sharing! Definitely a keeper!
