  1. Is there any way I can use boysenberry syrup with BlackBerries? I'm trying to make a boysenberry pie but the funny thing is I could not find boysenberries in my town, and i absolutly need a boysenberry pie. All I have is boysenberry syrup and blackberries ......I've searched everywhere to find a recipe and this one was my favorite. If I could just find a solution to my problem with the help of a pie expert aha??? I don't know where else to go for help.

  2. I had enough berries to make two pies. I followed the directions very well and both pies still came out fairly runny. I suggest others use a bit more cornstarch or some flour to add to the berry mixture. The taste, however, MORE than made up for the presentation.

  3. Oh, yeah! I do love boysenberry pie, & your recipe makes 'em as good as those from that farm! We used to live close enough to Knott's Berry Farm (when the admission was FREE!) that we could pop over there anytime & pick up one of those gems, but now . . . Your recipe brings up wonderful memories & gives me a much appreciated taste of times past! Thanks for sharing this keeper! [Tagged & made in Please Review My Recipe]

  4. I followed the recipe, but it was very runny. I read the blogs and noticed others had the same problem so I only put half the liquid in pie shell, but it was still runny. The pie was very good, but I think I will try the tapioca like suggested in the other blog.

  5. This recipe is absolutely the best. In fact, I won best in show at the Salt Lake County Fair with it. I just added 2 Tbsp of tapioca. FABULOUS!

Tweaks

  1. So what I did was added more corn starch to 4 1/2 tablespoons. And instead of having 2 sesperate mixtures I boiled everything then added cornstarch and then berries. Brought to a boil again then poured mixture into pie pan. It came out perfect. And tasted just like it had come from knotts berry farm
