I made this on the spur of the moment to go in Little Bee's copcat Taco Bell Chicken Burritos. Somehow, my eyes glossed right over the red pepper flakes so I omitted those. Despite this, I loved the flavors of the sauce and maybe won't add it next time, either. I used Pace Picante sauce. The sauce really tasted like from a good restauraant, and had an unexpected sweetness. I liked this much better than canned enchilada sauce, Kitten! Roxygirl

Bravo, KITTENCAL!!! I was making KLBoyle's "Chicken Enchilada Soup" and I was out of enchilada sauce (I always have several cans of Old El Paso Red Enchilada Sauce in Hot). So, I decided to try your recipe instead of running to the store. Am I glad I did!!! I'll never buy canned sauce again!! I used about 5 t of chili powder and 3 t of cumin. Thanks for the keeper, KITTENCAL!

I too used this for Easy Enchiladas Easy Enchiladas (Beef or Chicken) along with Pipin' Hot Bakery Whole Wheat Tortillas Pipin' Hot Bakery Whole Wheat Tortillas. It was very good and very easy to make! I didn't add the onions only because I was almost out and I already added lots of onion to the meat mixture.

This was a quick and delicious sauce to prepare. I made the recipe as directed and used for the recipe Easy Enchiladas (beef or chicken) #29884. I will indeed use this recipe again the next time a sauce of this nature is needed.
