This was really good marinade, but I think next time I will leave the mustard out,. as I'm not crazy about the flavor.

Just got done serving my family awesome porterhouse steaks that had been marinated in your wonderful recipe. My Mom, who is very fussy her steaks, really loved it. I marinated 4 1/2 pounds of porterhouse steak overnight and then brought them out to come to room temp, I drained the leftover marinade into a nonstick skillet, and over a med heat, let it come to a slow boil, added 3 tablespoons of butter and then added about 1 pound of sliced mushrooms and sauteed them in the marinade and butter mixture. I did not add any additional seasonings to the steaks prior to broiling, and they turned out wonderful and the mushrooms were just the final touch to make them perfect - both tender and delicious tasting. I made two minor changes: rather than using 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, I used 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire and 1 tablespoon of less sodium soy sauce and instead of Dijon - 1 1/2 times more sodium - used spicy brown mustard. I had to find some way of cutting down the 1230 mg of sodium per serving without changing your basic recipe. Thank you, kittencalskitchen for a great recipe.

As a child, my father used to take us "over the river" to Niagara Falls, NY to this little place for steak. You would go into the kitchen and write your order for the cook. Your order was how you wanted your steak done. Everyone got bread and salad in a big bowl. The walls were covered in bills, with hand written notes from the owner of the bills lol. I remember asking my parents for coins to put in the juke box too. They were always so tasty , tender, juicy. This marinade makes me think of all those things. Delicious!! We have used this recipe over and over now. Absolutely scrumptious!! :)

OMG! This was Sooo good & easy to prepare. Once the Steaks hit the grill the smell was incredible. Guests in the house could even smell the steaks & asked when was dinner. Used inch thick Ribeyes grilled for 8 minutes total for a perfect medicum rare. Guests couldn't wait for the 5 minute rest peroid for the steaks & kept peeking. Wish I had taken a Picture but they were all plated up & being consumed! Next time for sure. Thanks for such a great marinade. Will definately use again!

Kittencal, your recipes never let me down :) I really enjoyed our strip steaks tonight. I marinated them for about 18 hours and subbed red wine vinegar for the balsamic. I also added a dash of red pepper flakes. THANK YOU!
