I didn't add in the ham, but had it with ham instead for Easter! What a great thing to have with the ham! It was really tasty and enjoyed by myself and my family and guests! Thank you for sharing!
We made this as a cold potato salad. It wasn't a bad salad but I would deffinately add the optional ham. Unfortunately we have vegetarians in our family so that wasn't an option. We ended up sprinkling bacos on top of individual servings (if you mix it in they get a weird texture/flavor as they soften) I agree that Hellman's is a must. Thanks for the change from our classic potato salad recipe.
Very good. We halved the portion for a family of 4.
Another super recipe, Kittencal! I made this as a side dish for a BBQ and it was gobbled up. I made as directed with peeled red potatoes (my standard for potato salads), Hellman's mayo, and did not add in any ham. We served it warm but honestly, it was SO good cold I think I may make this our new *cold* potato salad recipe. Only problem we ran into was that once heated, the ingredients seemed to separate and look a bit oily in the casserole dish - but this didn't affect the overall WONDERFUL taste of this dish! Thanks a bunch!
This was a huge hit with my family as well as our friends. We took our leftovers to them so they could taste it as well. Of course, they wanted the recipe. We had tried another recipe that was somewhat similar to this, but it didn't even compare to this one. Absolutely delicious!!
I made this casserole for a party without having tried it first. I was sure it would be good, but had no idea just HOW Great it would be. I served this warm and followed the recipe exact and would not change a thing. The little bit that was left was taken by one of the attendees of the party because she wanted to try to replicate it. I gave her the recipe along with the little bowl of leftovers and she was thrilled!!!! Then, the recipe was copied to just about everyone else at the party. So, that in itself tells you just how good this recipe is! Do not hesitate to make it as you will have great results. Thanks for sharing.
OH MY...the name of this has me sold! Can't wait to try another great recipe from Kittencal!!
I can't believe I haven't rated this yet! We have this at least once per week and it is by far our favorite potato dish. Once I didn't have cheddar, so I used parmesan and it was very, very good. Thanks, Kitten!
Another great dish!I cut the serving down to 4 people and it worked out great.I used a combination of regular sour cream and an onion flavoured one, more like a chip dip.It was very good, great flavour.I did not have any green onions so I just used yellow.I baked this dish so I grated the cheese to be added into the mix instead of cubing, figured it would spread more evenly.
I think this one's illegal (somewhere)! I can't figure out if it's like a baked potato with all the fixin's, mashed potatoes, potato salad, all 3, or somewhere in the middle but who cares? This fit in a 10x15 casserole, and I used 3 different types of potatoes (including purple ones). I love onion and chives so I did 1 large onion and 8 chives or so. I put the cheese cubes in the recipe and decided it was already over the top without topping with more cheese, but I must confess I'm tempted to try this next time with some boiled eggs and bacon. POTATO NERVANA!
