As always Kittencalskitchen came through.. My daughter said "wow mommy this is great" I did adjust to my tastes and added red wine to get the last of the sweet babby rays bbq sauce out of the bottle I also used a 28oz can of bushes beans with brown sugar and bacon and used a 15oz can of carribean black beans and a can of drained corn, schallots for my onion... it was even great the next day.. I always know I can count on the recipes from kitten...

This was really nice, lovely smoky flavour and it went down well with both hubby and my 5 year old. Thanks for posting!

Amazing! I was looking to make a baked bean recipe because I'd never tried homemade before and I came across this and if it hadnt been Kittencal's recipe I probly wouldnt have tried it. So delicous everybody loved it. The changes I made were leaving out the capsicums (bell peppers) and jalapeno's. Added more garlic and extra mince. Served it on wraps with lettuce and sour cream. One tip for people looking for a litle bit of a healtier recipe it would'nt make a difference if you skipped the cheddar cheese on top TY Kittencal

Great recipe. I made some substitution but it turned out great. I got interupted pre-making this for dinner and didn't start it again until less than an hour before we should be sitting down to eat. I had already chopped all of the veggies. I left the bacon out (the interuption involved bacon left on stove top while I dealt with kids and it burned). I then used 28 ounce can of Bush's baked beans traditional style instead of 16 can and then I left out kidney beans. Other than that, I mixed 2 kinds of barbecue sauce (left over 1/2 inch in bottom of each bottle) to get a little less than 1 cup. It was great. My husband told me his mom used to make something similar (one of his favorites) with canned biscuits on top, but they were always a little soggy. I cooked cheddar garlic drop biscuits on the side and it was a great, but heavy/filling dinner. Tastes great the next day, too. Thanks again for another great recipe!

I've made this three times now and it has come out perfect every time! I omitted the jalapeno, bacon and molasses and used Bush's baked beans since I couldn't find any in tomato sauce and the flavor was fantastic! Thanks for posting!

Everyone loved this. So easy to make andvery very yummy and satisfying. I served with with a tossed salad. Next time I think I will opt for a single steamed veggie like green beans or broccoli. I left out the bell pepper, jalapeno and the celery as we arn't big fans of them. Also left out the parmesan cheese. I used a package of pre-cooked bacon and just diced it straight out of the package. I also used cannellini beans, which are also called white kidney beans. for the red. I also used Bush baked beans 'cause I couldn't find any in tomato sauce and used a very large can. I used a 4 cheese mexican mix and didn't mix any in, just topped the casserole with it. I'll be making this again. Thanks for posting.

This was very good though it seems to be having an identity crisis--is this a side dish masquerading as a main or vice versa? I figured anything with this much meat must be a main dish, so I served it with cornbread and fruit salad. It was good enough that DH said it tasted like "it had to be bad for you"--a telltale sign that something's pretty yummy. :) Will definitely make again, probably leaving out the yellow mustard. I opted for dried versions of the garlic and onion to save time, left out green pepper and celery. Very tasty and easy.

This was absolutely delish! It had a mild sweetness and the cheese (I used the cheddar/monterey mix) brought all the flavors together. I used garlic and onion powder, no jalapeno and subbed the kidney beans for another can of baked beans. I left out the molasses and worcestershire sauce, too. My husband ate this every day, twice a day until it was gone!!

This is very tasty, easy and fast. I didn't add the jalapeno as some don't care for it but it was still good. My son wasn't crazy about it so I only gave it a 4 star rating.

What a surprise! I didn't have this high an expectation as I was preparing this. However, this is not just good, it's great! Definitely on my top ten list of best casseroles. The only thing different I did was I added two cans of sliced potatoes and I used black beans instead of kidney beans. I did add the cheese at the end. Tje [ptatpes were a great addition. It turned out excellent. I definitely recommend this to anyone. It's very easy and so scrumptious!

This reminded me of picnic food that other people bring and I wonder how they came up with the idea. Very comforting! i halved the recipe and it came out fine... halved the molasses and went for full heat with the peppers! Thanks Kitten!

I don't want to rate this just make comments. Maybe I am just not a casserole kinda gal. I made this last night, as I wanted someting I could make ahead of time, since we had guests. Everyone enjoyed this (truly), except myself and my daughter. I found it to be way to sweet for my taste. I think in the future, if I make again, I would skip the molasses, add more onion and green pepper, salt and fresh ground pepper, maybe even a can of stewed tomatoes. I did add the macaroni, that was good.

This is one of those old-fashioned dishes that brings picnics of days past to mind with one taste. For that alone, I love it. I made it with ground turkey instead of beef, which worked out fine. Next time, I'll cut the barbecue sauce just a bit so there's less liquid. I put cheese on top, but it's really not necessary. I'm sure this would be great without it.

OMG - This was the best one meal dish we have had. It was easy and ohhhhh so good. My DH loved this. The only change I made: I peeled and cubed about 4 medium sized potatoes, boiled them till they were almost done (Just on the verge of tenderness) and then added them to the casserole prior to putting in the oven. Kittencal, you have some really great recipes for people like me who don't like spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. This is most certainly going into my "Will have again" cookbook.
