    Directions:

    1. 1
Dry apple, orange, lime, and lemon slices.
    2. 2
I put them on a cookie cooling rack, then on a baking sheet and place in oven. Bake at 170 F for about 5-7 hours, until apples are still pliable but not mushy, and there is no liquid left in citrus fruit.
    3. 3
Dry cranberries by covering a baking sheet with parchment paper and putting cranberries in single layer.
    4. 4
Dry @ 170°F These take about 8 hours.
    5. 5
As fruit is done, take out and place in a large bowl.
    6. 6
      Add all the spices.
    7. 7
Toss with vanilla extract and allow to dry overnight.
    8. 8
Place in container or bags to give away.

This made my house smell heavenly. I made two large batches with my grown daugher -- a nice activity to sit and chat while slicing the fruit! Thanks for a great holiday activity and tremendous smelling house!

This was great! I had a tiny problem w/the lemons;they turned dark brown.I wonder if I cut them too thin. They have clear vanilla extract which I used and it worked fine. I put some in a simmer pot today and my house smelled great. Thanks for sharing.
