Another recipe from King's Inn Restaurant on Baffin Bay in South Texas. If you love avocados, you will love this dressing. I can eat it by itself it is so yummy!!!!
- 2 avocados, peeled and seeded
- 1⁄2 tablespoon curry powder
- 8 ounces sour cream
- Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
- garlic salt (to taste)
- lemon juice (to taste)
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
- Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
Very close recipe to the real thing- we do ours with one variation that adds another layer of flavor- and we think it is closer to the original- we use Borden's French Onion dip instead of the sour cream and if it sits after mixing at least one hour it is perfection! Enjoy a bit of South Texas treasure anywhere you are- I am in Cali so make it for a taste of home
Sooo goood! Curried avocado dressing. The amounts in the recipe are vague, so I'll just list amounts I used, for my own reference. 2 tbs curry powder, 1 ts Worcestershire Sauce, 2 ts lemon juice, 2 ts garlic powder, 2 ts onion powder, 1 ts salt, 1 ts white pepper. The delicate avocado flavor was not overpowered with all this seasoning, it was still more avocado than curry.
This is insanely good! I am going to have to restrain myself from eating it all before dinner. To think I just stumbled across this recipe while looking for a curry dressing...lucky me!
