This is truly outstanding! I must first say, that this is not the lime sorbet I was looking for, and I am not entirely sure that I would classify this recipe as "sorbet" at all. But I will say, that the flavor of this recipe is extremely outstanding! The taste is truly that of a frozen version of key lime pie : ) I made this with bottled lime juice in my ice cream machine and allowed to sit in my freezer to freeze for a few hours before tasting. There is not question that I will make this recipe again. It is wonderful! I served a scoop of this with Derf's Orange Sponge Cake for one terrific dessert! Thank you, Kathy, for sharing this recipe!
This was quite nice but a bit too sweet for my taste. I used bottled Key lime juice that seemed to have a slight bitterness to it. Next time I will use 1/3 sugar and fresh lime and see if that makes a difference. This makes a refreshing summer desert.
I used half key lime juice and half regular lime juice. It was smooth and sweet and verrrry limey. I will probably do less key lime next time but we sure did enjoy this recipe.
I have a key lime tree in my garden and its loaded with fuit, so I am always looking for recipes with key limes. The grandchildren picked the fruit and squeezed the limes and my daughter and me made this ice cream. The taste is wonderful and the recipe so extremely easy. Thank you Kathy, I will make this on many occasions.
I used half Nellie and Joe's key lime juice and half fresh regular limes. The whole family really liked it. Nice and tart! I also used the ice cream maker and then let it harden a few hrs in the freezer - separated into two containers to make the process faster! Thanks for the recipe!
This is soooooo refreshing on a hot summer day! I added the zest of 2 limes - added a little "zing" to the sorbet and also looked really pretty! I like Key Lime anything - and this recipe was splendid!
