Recently purchased a bottle of creme de cacao and began looking for recipes that included this chocolate flavored liquor. Since I am not much of a cocktail drinker, but love hot drinks this one really appealed to me. Have not tried it yet but decided to share my find.
- 8 ounces hot cocoa
- 3 ounces kentucky Bourbon
- 1 ounce Creme de Cacao
- 1⁄4 cup whipped cream
- 1 teaspoon cocoa
- Mix the heated cocoa, bourbon and creme de cacao together and pour into glass mugs or any vessel you would use for an Irish whiskey.
- Top each beverage with half the whipped cream.
- Dust with a small amount of cocoa.
The high today was 15 degrees and this recipe warmed me up from the inside out. I used the clear Creme de Cacao and it turned out very good. I think I'll skip the extra cocoa next time, but this recipe is a keeper. Would be really good after a long day skiing/snowmobiling!
My hot cocoa was so chocolate rich, I could barely taste the bourbon! This is an outstanding cocoa!
