Kathy's Cake Mix Cookies

"My mom always makes her cookies this way. This recipe uses brown sugar, which many other cake mix cookie recipes do not. Experiment with cake mix flavors and add-ins. Vanilla with chocolate chip, chocolate with peanut butter chips, banana with butterscotch chips...!"

  1. excellent cookies, followed recipe, added and mixed in crushed andie's mints to half the batter and sprinkled sugar on the top of the cookies from the other half of the batter, baked for 11 minutes on parchment paper. they were perfect, crisp on the outside, moist in the middle. thanks for a great recipe.

  2. These cookies were fabulous! My husband called them "perfect"!! This is going to be my "go-to" cookie recipe from now on! I made them with a yellow cake mix and semi-sweet chocolate chips. I, too, can't wait to experiment with the flavors if cake mix and chips!<br/>Thanks so much for posting!!

  3. This a such a great recipe! I used devil's food cake mix and put a chocolate covered espresso bean in the center of each, turned out really good. These cookies are a great texture, as long as you don't over bake them they turn out to be a little chewy with crispy edges. I can't wait to try them with other flavors.

  4. this is a great recipe for someone who is a beginner, like my daughter who really wanted to bake these for her fiance. we added some semi sweet chocolate chips to a chocolate cake mix, and placed a walnut half on each cookie-

  5. I wonder if adding some peanut butter to the mix would work ? will have to try one of these times. A co-worker made these and brought in to work for us to try, they were YUMMY. I was amazed at what little it took to make these.
