These cookies were fabulous! My husband called them "perfect"!! This is going to be my "go-to" cookie recipe from now on! I made them with a yellow cake mix and semi-sweet chocolate chips. I, too, can't wait to experiment with the flavors if cake mix and chips!
Thanks so much for posting!!

This a such a great recipe! I used devil's food cake mix and put a chocolate covered espresso bean in the center of each, turned out really good. These cookies are a great texture, as long as you don't over bake them they turn out to be a little chewy with crispy edges. I can't wait to try them with other flavors.

this is a great recipe for someone who is a beginner, like my daughter who really wanted to bake these for her fiance. we added some semi sweet chocolate chips to a chocolate cake mix, and placed a walnut half on each cookie-

I wonder if adding some peanut butter to the mix would work ? will have to try one of these times. A co-worker made these and brought in to work for us to try, they were YUMMY. I was amazed at what little it took to make these.

Good cookies. I made them as written. I'm with Chia. They were easy to make for beginner cooks so a child that helped me had an easy time mixing etc. I also agree with Boomette that the cake mix is sweet enough and the brown sugar pushes it over. I think next time I will try omitting the brown sugar also. I used a yellow cake mix, dark brown sugar and milk chocolate chips. See the photo I posted as the color was so consistent with regular chocolate chip cookies but effortless in comparison. I baked them for 9 minutes. They are chewy soft in the middle. They have that crinkle look as well. When I need a short cut these work well. Thanks for sharing Queen of Hearts. Enjoy! ChefDLH

Sooooooo easy! This is revolutionary (and tasty). I used yellow cake mix with mini cadbury eggs for an easter treat.

This is a great recipe that I'll try again with other cake mix. I used a white cake mix. Love it. But next time I won't use brown sugar. The cake mix is sweet enough so I think it would be great without the brown sugar. They were easy to do. I baked them 10 minutes. Removed the baking sheet from the oven. Then I waited a good 5 minutes before removing the cookies to a cooling rack. They turned out perfect. Crispy and moist inside. Thanks Queen of Harts :) Made for Cookbook tag game

I always have cake mixes on hand so this is a good recipe to keep. I used a milk chocolate cake and didn't add anything extra. They were chewy and good. Made for Spring PAC 2011.
