  2. Really good divan recipe. I made a few modifications. Instead of the chicken, I used cubed firm tofu that I pre-fried a bit. I added a large handful of chopped carrots and celery as well. I lined the bottom of the pan with cooked rice, then the veggies and tofu and poured the sauce over top. I also added about 3/4 cup of milk to the sauce to make it a bit runnier. Next time I think I'll double the curry just cause I really like the curry flavour and would like it to be stronger. Thanks for posting!

  3. I made this for this evenings dinner and it turned out wonderful! I pre cooked the rice and then started to layer this with the rice, then chicken etc. I used 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can cream of mushroom, both heart healthy mixes. I also used reduced fat mayo, 1/2c lf mozarella and 1/4c shredded cheddar. This recipe made 2 8x8 pans (1 for the freezer as friend is having surgery end of month so will take to him!) Thank you for sharing kzbhansen!

  4. Since there's only my husband and me, I considered cutting this recipe in half but I'm happy I didn't. My husband loves anything with chicken and rice so he really enjoyed this. I was a little concerned that by using cooked chicken breasts, it would come out dry but it didn't. The other ingredients helped keep it nice and creamy. This made enough for me to do an 8x8 pan for my niece to freeze in preparation for the birth of her baby and still have another meal for us.

  5. I think this is the first time I have tried Chicken Divan. This was a delicious recipe. My DD wasn't crazy about it because of the mushroom soup she said, but she ate what was on her plate. I enjoyed it very much. I cooked up some bite size chicken with some seasoning salt and some fresh mushrooms I needed to use. As well my frozen veggies were a mixed blend not just broccoli but I don't think that affected anything, it made it more tastier. I had to cook mine about 45 minutes to get bubbly for me, maybe because I didn't use the right size casserole dish. Mine was a 9x9 size. I will definitely make this again but try cream of chicken soup (only because of my DD) Sure was tasty Karen, thanks for the post of the recipe. This was a great first experience with Chicken Divan for me.

  2. You must try this recipe, its a definite keeper. The only changes I made was using cream of chicken soup instead of the cream of mushroom and I used fresh broccoli and cooked it until almost done before baking the entire thing. All I can say is YUMMY! No doubt this will be made again and again at my house.

My kids love to help me cook I think its a great time to get to communicate with our kids especially when life can get so crazy with school and such, this is a great habit we have gotten into, cooking and chatting LOL. We now have a smoothie night where we make an assortment of smoothies as a dessert, and on occasion we have had smoothies for dinner but that is a rare occasion. Its kids choice and they have fun on recipezaar because I have dedicated a cookbook just to smoothies. My daughter is getting creative in her smoothie endeavors and coming up with some incredible ideas!
