"Another great recipe from my neighbors mother. It is a bit time consuming but well worth the work. I am posting the recipe here just as June had written it. I know it is missing some filling ingredients amounts and I am going to find out what it takes. I have never made this only eaten it,"

  • Scald the milk then let cool to luke warm. Add the yeast, then add egg yolks that have been beaten with the sugar.
  • Mix together the flour, shortening, and salt. Add to the above mixture. Cover and place in the refridgerator over night. In the morning divide the dough into 4 parts and roll out into an oblong (no size was stated).
  • Brush with melted butter, beaten egg white, brown sugar and chopped nuts. Fold into 3rds. Let rise for 2 hours on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes., Frost with the powder sugar icing.
  • To make the icing mix together the melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and enough heavy cream to reach your desired consistency.
