These were excellent. I used pecans and added 1/4 cup of butterscotch chips. I made them in half batches because my big pan was dirty. =P They still came out super soft and chewy. Don't grease the pan too much or they will be too greasy. If you use spray, spray and blot with a paper towel to remove excess.

I searched for a simple brownie recipe today using Bisquick and came across this one. I am very happy with the results. I did alter the recipe a bit to suit my taste tonight though... I only had 1 tsp of vanilla to use... 1 stick of butter is all I had... so I added 2 extra tblsp. of water... mixed sugar, water, eggs together first in a bowl and mixed bisquick and the Hersey powder together in a seperate bowl, then added it to the eggs mixture... then added the melted butter and stirred with a spoon... used an 8x8 glass pan... made 2 layers (1/2 of the batter on the bottom, than added 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips... next added 1/4 cup of peanut butter to the remaining batter and then spreaded it on top of the chips. Baked for 22 minutes... checked and decided to bake another 10 minutes. (baked in the center of the oven too). I am happy with the results... they are more cake like but I like them this way too. Would make them again.

I made these a few days ago with just 2 changes. 1) I used a little less bisquick to make them more gooey, and 2) I swirled in some peanut butter because my husband is a peanut butter fanatic. They were fabulous! Even my mother in law loved them!!

Made these as cup cakes - delicious! Slightly crunchy on top and nice and soft in the centre. Mad as written but added a capful of orange flower water, as I love a hint of orange with chocolate! Thanks for an easy recipe!

My daughter and I just made these. She enjoyed making them. It's simple, quick, and easy. Will defnetly make again. They were somewhat gooey-but once they cool- they were okay. Love the chocolate!!

Good flavor, but wasn't like a brownie. Cake like and Not "Chewy" I think they would make good chocolate muffins. Also, had to cook extra 10 min. to cook. Was raw at 25 min.

I made this recipe on 5/28/08, and I have to say this first, I really don't like giving any recipe a 3 star rating. The recipe itself mixed up just fine, and the finished product taste very "chocolatly". I followed the recipe as written and even lightly greased my pan so they wouldn't stick. But as far as the rising they didn't and I had to let them bake for at least 15 to 20 minutes more before they were done.Even chilling in the "fridge" didn't help them. I don't think they are going to be made again. But,"Keep Smiling :)"

I have a confession: I make lousy brownies. I think the problem is my oven but for some reason brownies never turn out when I make them. I followed this recipe as directed, I baked the brownies for 30 minutes but they still turned out very gooey. I have to give this recipe five stars through because the taste is fantastic - so chocolaty. We added a scoop of ice cream and a little fudge/caramel sauce - we were in chocolate heaven! Thanks for posting.

I made these just because they were made with bisquick. I am so glad I did. These are so good. Will use this recipe again.

I just took these out of the oven and they're delicious. I baked them exactly 18 minutes. They have just the right amount of cakiness and fudginess and a great chocolate. This is definitely a keeper, thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! A recipe similar to this used to be on the Bisquick boxes. Whenever I made this recipe I'd get raves. Then they stopped putting it on the boxes, I lost my original copy, and I couldn't find it on the Bisquick site. And here it is! YAY!

These were fabulous brownies, Fluffster! I was looking to try a brownie recipe using Bisquick when I came across this. I love the texture Bisquick gives food (muffins, bars, etc). I like brownie that is fudgy, thick, but with some texture. Usually, the brownies I've made with cocoa have been "cakey" but these were fudgy, chewy, crusty edges, and cut well. I made two batches of these in a row, one to give to some friends and one for ourselves. I will definitely be making these again. Note: I didn't need to add the extra water. The batter was "just right." Thanks for posting. Roxygirl

I just got these out of the oven and they turned out very well! They were extremely simple to make and taste quite a bit like a store bought mix. My regular brownie recipe uses real bittersweet chocolate, but these are a great alternative when I need something quick! I believe the comments made before were posted before a correction was made to the recipe. These turned out great for me. Thanks! Edited to add: I forgot to mention that I didn't add the 2 TBS of water to these. The batter just didn't need it and the brownies are incredibly moist

I'm not sure if this recipe is correct. I made it as written and came up with a clump rather than a batter. I added about 1/4 cup of milk to make it a thick batter. Possibly because of my addition, I had to cook it a lot longer (and it was still undercooked). The taste was good in the end but I don't think that the recipe was any easier than a normal brownie recipe. It basically omitted only the salt and the leavening agent, two things that are not difficult to measure.
