I really enjoyed this soup. I couldn't find mexican tomatoes so used salsa instead. That probably made the soup a bit more spicy than intended. I also only had 1 can of black beans so I used it and 1 can of kidney beans. Delicious

Excellent soup. I pureed the tomatoes. I used extra broth and added pasta and corn to it. Thanks for the recipe.

I love this recipe and have made it a number of times. I add a dash of cayanne pepper instead of black pepper and a spoonful of yogurt on top when i serve it. Delicious!!!

I thought this was absolutly fabulous! It is such an easy soup (minutes, not hours to make) and it is PACKED with flavor. I used vegetable broth instead of the water for added flavor, and garnished with the sour cream and cheddar cheese. BEWARE: this soup is a five course meal in a bowl. As I sit and type I fear that too much movement will cause spontaneous combustion because I am so full. Made for ZWT III

Very good and easy. I upped the cumin/coriander when I saw the sheer volume of what was in the pot, and I'm glad I did. It's spicy too with the tomatoes. Looking forward to leftovers! Thanks for sharing.

Tasty, especially the second day. Really is more of a black bean chili, though, because of all the tomatoes. Next time, I'll try fresh tomatoes.

Very easy to make and quite tasty too! I didn't have any Mexican-style tomatoes so I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes and then added 1/2 jalapeno pepper to give a little heat. This has a great flavor and reminded me of vegetarian chili. I would make this again! DH thinks it would be good with sausage, I had to remind him what vegetarian meant, LOL! Thanks Trace!

So tasty and filling..... and made with items that I always have on hand! Partially pureeing gives it a nice thickness (I used my immersion blender and just whizzed it for a few seconds). I only used 1 tbsp of oil, otherwise no changes were made. The seasoning is just right without being too spicy. This recipe is a keeper. Thanx for a great lunch!
