I doubled the recipe for four people and it was inhaled!!!! My neighbor and I started eating it before our husbands got inside and they complained we didn't leave them enough. I did use jalapenos instead of green peppers.

I've never eaten at Joe's Crab Shack, so I can't say if this recipe replicates their crab dip. But I CAN say that this was very tasty!! I love a warm crab dip, and this one was just what I was hungry for. I even had all the ingredients on hand except the green peppers, for which I substituted a much smaller amount of diced jalapeno, which added a slightly hot flavor which I enjoyed. I did have to use imitation crab, as this was all I had. My husband commented that this tasted pretty good cold, too... but I ate mine bubbly warm!

Delicious! I substituted jalapeno pepper for bell pepper, also sprinkled cayenne over top before baking. Thanks so much for posting!

This was excellent. I added a dash of cayenne pepper and served it with Homemade Baked Tortialla Chips (#124908) which were also a big hit. I used imitation crab meat because that was all I had on hand and it was still good. I'm sure it would be even better with real crab meat.

Very yummy! Instead of seasoning salt, I used 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning. We enjoyed this dip a lot!

Sorry for the delay in review, made this New Year's eve 2003!! It is wonderful! Used finely chopped green onions, omitted green peppers and added dash of hot sauce. This is definitely an addition to my appetizer recipes! Thank you!

Good but not good enough to make again. I doubled the recipe which made 4 cups of dip. Out of 4 adults 3 thought it was just OK and the other really liked it. In order to zing it up a bit I added half of a finely diced jalapeno and some old bay as suggested by other reviews, but it still just didn't 'do it' for us.

I agree with most of the reviews on here - I quadrupled the recipe and 30 people scarfed it down, practically licking the pie pan. Although - quadrupling the recipe insisted on 60 minutes cooking time. But, was certainly worth it!!

My taste buds are stirring up memories of eating this delicious dip. My girlfriend and I and our company thought this dip was out of this world good! We served them with tortilla chips on the side and everyone dipped till their hearts were content, including me! Thanks. Mike

This dip is very good. I used an 8oz container of fresh backfin crab meat and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Great base recipe! I may toy with it and add either hot sauce, or jalapenos, or worcestershire, or.......but as for an easy and tasty base? This one is it. Thanks for sharing!

it may taste okay, but there is very little crab in this, and a whole lot of calories. I could not taste the crab :(

Wow! I really love this dip! I used double the amount of minced onions and peppers. I also used red peppers for taste preference. Homemade tortilla chips rounded off the dip. Thanks for posting!

Made this for a dinner with friends, and while it was good, my husband and friends enjoyed it more.. I had to make 2 helpings and i was gone in no time! So easy and a quick idea for bbq's! might try jalapenos for an extra kick next time!

great flavor, I added jalapeno instead too and sprinkled with cayenne pepper. was great, only thing, like tuna you dont just drain it, you must squeeze the juice out, because when it heats up, it's kinda soupy. but what great flavor

Well this was okay but not great. I used really good crab but did not blow me away. I did not use the bell pepper because of personal preference; maybe I should have used some chilies.

Sign in or create an accountThis recipe got such stellar reviews I was eager to try. And for me it fell short. The flavors were kind of one note I think it needs a little heat. I think I will try it the same way but add some jalapenos, maybe its because I from New Orleans and I like my food Cajun and spicy. But nonetheless and easy tasty recipe.
