Joan's Weeknight Shepherd's Pie

My mother made this for me when I was growing up.


  1. Brown beef, pour off fat. Add celery and onion, salt and pepper to taste. Add soup and milk. Simmer.
  2. Put into casserole, top with mashed potatoes. Brown in oven. (325 degrees or so.).
  3. You can skip browning if in a hurry, and just put the sauce on top of the potatoes.

Quick and easy to make. A big hit with the family. I added about a half can of milk with the cream of celerly soup. Just as good with cream of mushroom or cream of asparagus soup too.
