ingredients
- 2⁄3 cup rye meal, kernels
- 12 cups water
directions
- Wash rye kernels.
- Dry kernels in oven.
- Roast kernels until dark in hot oven or brown dark. (Alternate quicker roasting method: in heavy pan on top of stove.).
- Grind in coffee grinder and place grounds in filter in drip coffee maker basket.
- Add water to coffee maker and start brewing!

I used rye flour and dry toasted it in a cast iron skillet. I halved the recipe and I really enjoyed the flavor. The coffee was light but you could taste it and I added some sugar to sweeten. Thanks for posting this! I'm going to play around with blending this with some other grains. Made for Newest Zaar Tag.
