Awesome burgers! Thanks for the recipe. Hubby loves these with spicy sweet potato fries. Freezes well in individual portions.
I make these quite often in the summer. You can also do them inside. I got the recipe from Eating Well July/Aug. 1993.
These are going into my weekly rotation! I love them, my kids loved them, and they're so easy. I dressed them just like regular burgers and that was perfect. The only thing I did differently was cook them on the stove top in the same pan I sauted the peppers in. Served with Creamed Corn. Thanks P4! EDIT: I had tripled the recipe so I had quite a few leftover, and I have to say these things reheat so well they taste fresh. Cook up a ton and freeze them!
Loved these! The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because mine were a little bit on the dry side. I don't know why, but I did cook them on the grill. I did not use a bun, but served them with mango salsa which complemented the taste of the burgers wonderfully. I mashed up the salsa a bit to make it more like a sauce, and served a pinto grigio to drink. Wonderful blend of flavors! I will definitely make these again!
I'd add more stars if I could, 'cuz these burgers are wonderful! Moist, tender and oh so flavorful! After surfing thru hundreds of turkey recipes here, I was ready to give up when your recipe came up. I was hoping to find something new and exciting and never imagined it would be so scrumptious! Had to sub jarred roasted red peppers for fresh and I too pan fried the burgers. Also used some of Derf's leftover Curried Couscous,#16866, in place of the plain. Thanks for a great recipe!!
Wow, we loved these, too. I pan fried the burgers and loved the crunchiness that gave the couscous on the outside of the patty. I didn't think I was a fan of couscous but this recipe is going to change my mind. These were GREAT, P4. I didn't change anything else other than adding a slice of cheddar.
