    FLKeysJen's Note:

From "What's Cooking in Portugal" by Saul Krieg. Porto, a vintage fortified wine, is made from grapes grown in the legally defined area 50 miles above Oporto, Portugal. Cobblers were popular drinks in the 19th century, consisting of a base spirit (originally some form of wine), sugar and fresh fruit.

I wasn't sure that I would like this, since I've never tried port before, but I thought this was really pretty good. I used ruby porto, and I topped this with fresh raspberries, blackberries and a strawberry. I especially liked eating the icy berries out of this. I think I used too big a glass, so it ended up being a bit much port for me, but I'm kind of an alco-weenie. I liked how sweet the drink was, though. Thanks for posting! Made for The Honeys for ZWT8
