One of my all-time Jello salads that my mom's made since the sixties.

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Mix dry Jello with boiling water with a whisk to dissolved and stir in cold water.
  2. Let set in fridge till syrupy (can speed this up by setting bowl in another bowl filled with ice water for about 20 minutes).
  3. Add the diced apples, celery, and nuts.
  4. Pour into a glass dish (can be a bowl, 7x11, oval dish- a 9x13 is makes the squares too thin).

It turned out beautiful like Annacia's photo. I too cubed the jello and served it in a beautiful crystal bowl. I however, omitted the celery since we're not celery eaters. I used raspberry jello and it was delicious and beautiful. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Good old fashioned jello salad that is just right for summer enjoyment. I made a 1/2 recipe and still used the full 2 cups of liquid ask for on the package that included the lemon juice and it set up very firm. This is cool and refreshing but even though I used the 1/2 cup walnut bits their flavor seemed to get lost. I think that a bit of cinnamon would help round it out. I used sugar free raspberry jello and a red delicious apple.
