I wish I had a picture of this! It looks so cool when finished - just like an orange slice but instead of fruit in the middle there is jello! Beautiful! This makes taking jello shots much easier too - no messy squishing out of little paper cups. Great for any party! Feel free to experiment with different fruits and jello flavors! Lemons with pink lemonade jello is great as well.

    1. 1
Cut the oranges in half. Scoop out all the fruit, making sure to keep the peels intact (I recommend using the pulp to make fresh squeezed orange juice or whatever else you want - mix into pancakes or pastry batter, make marmalade, etc).
    2. 2
Make the jello according to package instructions (with the boiling water) but instead of using 1 cup cold water, substitute the vodka.
    3. 3
Take out a cupcake baking pan. Place each orange half peel in one of the cupcake holders to make them stand upright. Pour the jello carefully into each orange half.
    4. 4
Refrigerate for 4 hours, or until set. Cut the oranges into slices and serve!

These were great! I've seen them before and wanted to make them for a Halloween party I was attending...these didn't leave my house, though. I forgot to take a picture as soon as I sliced them, so they got a bit 'wilted', we'll say...LOL Nevertheless, they were very pretty as soon as they were done and something I'll make again, after my 'trial run!' Thanks for sharing, sofie-a-toast!
