Oishii! This was very good. Some of the curry rices I've had in the past were a little bland for my taste so I added some chili powder to the curry. I also replaced one onion for two shallots and added a splash of worchestershire to the water that the beef simmers in. Smelled heavenly! I will definitely make this again.
This dish was excellent. After reading the other comments I thought I would try it. It was not bland at all, everything was cooked perfectly and it was outstanding. I used fresh pork tenderloin and used chicken stock as opposed to water. I fed 10 people with 2 lbs of pork tenderloin. all gave a "Two thumbs up".
This was really good. Tasted just like Japanese rice should, savoury. To add some punch I added hot curry powder though, served it on jasmine rice.
My husband lived in Japan and loved mama san's japanese rice curry and this recipe is exactly as to how he remembers the taste. He stated it was great.
This was really, really good! I didn't have any honey (or a replacement of sugar) on hand, so I instead used sweet potatoes/yams in place of the potato. It turned out really nice and everything cooked thoroughly!
I loved this recipe! I changed it to a serving for two people and we still had a bit left over which was gone within a few seconds. I followed the guide and made the Garam Masala from scratch and I think it made it come out even more delicious. I usually do not like rice because they have very little flavor. But this AMAZING curry recipe made me devour a whole plateful! I loved it! :D.
I made this last night because I love and was craving Japanese curry. After all the effort and time in preparation it did not taste as well as the restaurants. The mix is better and faster. It tasted very bland like there wasn't enough seasoning or curry. Just bland bland bland. Disappointing. It was so so.Buy the mix.
this recipe is great! i've never tried curry rice before, but this recipe was a hit in my house! i'm definately going to save this in my favorite recipes =^]
