Jan's Sour Cream Coffee Cake

  1. Cream margarine and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add sifted dry ingredients and sour cream alternately.
  4. Spread 1/2 the batter in a 9x13-inch greased and floured pan.
  5. Spread 1/2 of filling over batter.
  6. Cover with remaining dough.
  7. Sprinkle rest of filling on top.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
  9. Cherries may be added to top for decoration.
  10. Cool slightly and drizzle with confectioners' sugar icing on top.
