- 1⁄4 lb butter, melted
- 8 ounces dates, chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1⁄2 cups Rice Krispies
- Boil butter, dates and sugar for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add beaten egg, vanilla and rice krispies.
- Mix well.
- Shape into 1 inch balls.
- Roll balls into crushed rice krispies.
- Store in cookie tins with waxed paper.
Wonderful healthier variation on Rice Krispie squares. Easy recipe to make with kids. They love rolling the mix into balls. Be sure to coat your hands with crushed Rice Krispies before rolling. You'll avoid the mix sticking to your hands.
