Jalapeno Cheese Cornbread

"This is a very moist, spicy twist on plain cornbread. I got this recipe from my sister-in-law. I never liked cornbread before this!"

  • Combine dry ingredients.
  • Grate the cheese, chop the onion and jalapeno's up fine.
  • Add onion, cheese and chili's. Mix well and add remaining ingredients, using enough buttermilk to have good pouring consistency. Preheat oven to 425-Prepare iron skillet with 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil in the bottom, place in the oven until ready. Pour batter in heated skillet and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
