  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Butter & flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar together until light & fluffy.
  • Beat in vanilla.
  • Beat in egg yolks one at a time, stopping to scrape down bowl half-way.
  • Mix in flour mixture and milk alternating, until ingredients are just incorporated.
  • Pour into pans & bake for 35-40 minutes, rotating pans half-way. Cake is done when top springs back when gently pressed.
