Tasty yellow 9-inch round cake! All ounce measurements are by weight, not volume.

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Butter & flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream butter and sugar together until light & fluffy.
  5. Beat in vanilla.
  6. Beat in egg yolks one at a time, stopping to scrape down bowl half-way.
  7. Mix in flour mixture and milk alternating, until ingredients are just incorporated.
  8. Pour into pans & bake for 35-40 minutes, rotating pans half-way. Cake is done when top springs back when gently pressed.
