These meatballs were sooo delicious and easy to make. I used ground turkey instead of beef but did not change any other part of the recipe. My 4 1/2 year old son who is a very picky eater loved them and even had seconds. I will definitely make this again.
This is a wonderful meatball recipe and gluten free which is even better. They taste so good just by themselves. Also yum as a burger patty. I accidentally thought it was one finely diced onion not one tsp...but it actually was very delicious. I added a splash of soy sauce to the meat and a bit of the garlic in the meatball as well. This is def now my go to recipe for meatballs. Thank you for posting!
This is my favorite meatball recipe. The milk and oatmeal must make the difference. I've made it with beef, turkey and a combo, all taste good. And I agree--make lots and freeze for later. Good for meatball sandwiches too.
SO GOOD! The meatballs were tender and tasty and the sauce was incredibly easy and oh so yummy! I made about double the pasta (pipette shape) and we all thoroughly enjoyed this. Made for Went To The Market tag. Thanks for a terrific dinner LARavenscroft! :)
Wonderful meatballs!!! I made them as written but had to sub cracker crumbs for the oatmeal, as I made oatmeal cookies earlier that day and used all the oatmeal up!! I then added the milk with the crackers and the only other thing I did different was to add some tomato paste to thicken the sauce up more to stick to the spaghetti!! Served with garlic bread and salad, yummy dinner!!! I made 3 inch meatballs so I got about 7 meatballs!! Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Lori - these are wonderfully moist and delicious!!! I followed your recipe exactly and even doubled the amount so I could freeze some meatballs for later. (I had 42 meatballs at 1" size by doubling so I think your 6 meatballs may be off a bit with one pound of beef - probably more like 16-20) I did goof and added the garlic to the meatballs themselves but it all worked out (b/c I realized and stopped at 3 cloves instead of doubling them). I served with wheat pasta and the family and two of the kids' friends woofed it all down!! Made during Summer Spectacular Event in Cooking Tag forum, June 2009. :)
