I developed this recipe as I was reviewing many other meatball recipes. The spices in the sweet Italian sausage give it the extra kick. These meatballs can be frozen for use later. Or used immediately in your favorite sauce. These are also a great appetizer with dipping sauce.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 lbs sweet Italian sausage (casing removed)
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 12 cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 13 cup marsala wine
  • olive oil (for frying)

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix together throughly.
  3. Using the palm of your hands. Roll into a ball shape. About one inch diameter.
  4. Place oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Place meatballs in hot oils.
  6. Move them around continuously to ensure that they do not burn, and are throughly cooked.
  7. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes (golden brown).
  8. Remove from oil and sit on paper towel to absorb any oil.
  9. Add to your favorite sauce.

Wonderful recipe, even my picky toddler boys liked it! I used Italian turkey sausage which tasted great and has very little fat.

My family really liked this recipe. I omitted the wine and used mild italian sausage. It was delicious and easy!!

My husband made these tonight to go with my spaghetti sauce and they were pretty good. We didn't add any wine we have little ones, plus I do not like red wine. What a great way to enjoy sausage in spaghetti. Thanks for a great recipe Steve!
