I had some friends over today, and we tried several different popcorn recipes. We all agreed that this one was best! I used microwave popcorn, which was already buttered so I didn't add any more. As well, I used seasoning salt instead of salt and pepper, and it worked well. We found that it tasted like pizza - it was great!
Very good popcorn :)
I thought it was ok, but it didn't have as much flavour as I expected. I used way less butter (maybe 1/8 cup) and parmesan cheese. I added some lemon pepper part of the way through to jazz it up and liked that much better.
Another winner from you, Mirj! I can't eat cheese, so I skipped that. I used the rest of the ingredients as a guide but didn't measure them because i just made a small batch of popcorn for myself (I'm the only one who really eats it in my house). I used generous dashes of dried basil, dried parsley, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. For the butter I used probably 10 sprays (maybe more lol!) of "I Can't Believe it's not Butter" spray. This comes pretty close to an herb-seasoned popcorn I've purchased before and have always wanted to recreate. I'm always looking for different ways to season popcorn and this was very yummy. I'm sure the cheese would have been a nice addition. Thanks again, Mirj, for another tasty recipe for my cookbook. :)
Yummy, yummy! Lots & lots of flavour. I did use parmesan instead of romano as that is what I had on hand - but I'm not really a cheese lover so I would probably cut back the amount next time. I used 3.5 quarts of popped corn & 1/2 cup butter. Strangely, this reminded me of pizza flavoured potato chips that I remember from when I was a kid.
Intense and tasty! I did use less butter than called for (a cup?! whew! that's a lot of butter!!) and I don't keep dried parsely on-hand, so I replaced that with fresh. Great flavor, and a nice twist from plain ol' buttered without much more work. I tried it without the cheese and I thought it was just as good that way, too. Thanks, Mirj!
