This recipe is a great basic one to get you started!! I recommended adding the barley at the very end because of the way it gets when you cook it for too long but other than that it was satisfying and perfect for the winter.

  1. Combine all ingredients except salt, pepper and sour cream in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  2. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Top each serving with a dollop of sour cream.
