Found that the 2 hour marinade was too long - it started to cook the shrimp. I only let it go 1 hour. Best grilled shrimp recipe so far.

I BBQ shrimp often using a very similar recipe. The only difference is that I add whole garlic cloves on the skewers between the prawns. I love garlic!

Just had this for supper along with a small bit of BBQ steak. WONDERFUL. I marinated it from partly frozen for about 45 minutes and was afraid the lime juice might cook it too much but it was perfect. Highly recommend this recipe because I think it was my best meal of the year so far. We had it with new potatoes, onions, and carrots from the garden, cooked in foil on the BBQ. I used the largest raw frozen shrimp available and I think that made a difference. BTW the shrimp were already cut and deveined down the back. I took the shells off but left the tail shell for easy handling. So now we are sitting here with garlic butter on our chins and smiling.
