I needed a quick meal when one daughter and boyfriend were on their way home with 1 1/2 hours notice.(I made spinach-tofu stuffed shells to accompany) Since both daughters are vegetarian, I omitted the meat and added chopped mushrooms. Delicious! I will certainly be making these many times again. Thank you for sharing!
I'm sorry, but I was really disappointed in these, considering all the 5-star reviews. Maybe it's because I'm new at stuffing shell pasta, but I found that all the filling fell out at the first bite of a shell. I ended up just dumping out the shells and eating the filling as salad. The salad itself was pretty good, but I would change the proportions to have a bit less romaine and a bit more "substance" ingredients.
This is a wonderful salad. I made it for a picnic with friends on our boat and it was a big hit. Thanks for such an easy and different dish.
These are great! I will definitely make them again!
These were a big hit! I used turkey because I didn't have any chicken, and substituted hearts of palm because I didn't have any cucumber. I will definitely make these the next time I have to bring a salad or appy someplace. And of course, I will have to make them at home because my family just loved them!
I made this for mothers day 2015 and EVERYONE love them!!! They were even better the next day. I will be making these on a regular basis...BTW I live in the UP too LOL :)
I have been making these for years but finally am signed up to rate. I love these, the kids love these and so does my hubby. If I could rate it higher I would. My kids typically don't care for salads but when I make these, the kids devour them.
Made these for the family one night just to try them out. The kids wouldn't eat them whole, but picked them a part and ate the salad and shells separate, but even my bf surprising liked them. The only thing I did different was use dry basil since I don't have any fresh. Thanks so much for posting it!
Wow what a great appetizer! Guaranteed no one is showing up with anything like this. This would be even better with the addition of some crisp bacon crumbled up in it. Definitely saving this to my cookbook
I made this for our 4th of July party and it was a huge hit! It really kept the crispness of the lettuce which made it a great recipe to make earlier in the day and then just pull out and serve when the guests arrived. This will definately be added to my faves for potlocks, picnics and BBQs!
