Italian Cheese Spread

"An easy and inexpensive appetizer that will be a hit at any occasion. Be sure to make this several hours or a day in advance to give the flavor from the ingredients time to meld. Can be used as a spread, or made into cheese balls."

  1. We really liked this a lot. Will definitely be making again. Of course I added a little extra garlic.

  2. Very good! Anything with fresh garlic is a winner! Made for PAC Fall 2009.

  3. I made something similar to this that was heated in the oven. I prefer this cold version, especially in the summer. I used dried onions instead of fresh; just a personal preference. I served this as a spread instead of in a ball. Easy to make ahead and have ready the day of a party.

  4. Somewhat reminiscent of pepperoni pizza, this spread was enjoyed by my family and holiday guests. I used a package of neufchatel and a package of fat-free cream cheese. I probably wouldn't use the fat-free if I was planning to form into a ball, but it worked out perfectly as a spread. In a bit of a hurry, I just tossed the onions, coarsely chopped, and the sliced pepperoni into the food processor and pulsed a couple of times; then added all remaining ingredients and gave it a few more whirls. Very quick and delicious--thanks for posting the recipe!
