I made these for dinner tonight. They smelled divine while grilling. The only thing I did differently was I served them on ciabatta rolls instead of English muffins. I split the rolls, drizzled them with EVOO and grilled them before putting the burger together. Even DD really enjoyed these burgers. The only thing I will do differently is maybe coarsely chop the basil sprig before I put it on top of the burgers. We all got a whole leaf of basil in one bite instead of a little in every bite. Perfect burger! Wonderful flavors to go with my Italian salad. Will make this one all the time as DH loved it.
Great burger! Tastes like a giant meatball sandwich. Scaled this down just for two. Left out the fennel since I don't care for it much. Served these on onion rolls with macaroni salad.
Great burgers! I don't usually grill burgers at home since we can eat them out most anywhere, but this recipe intrigued me. The only changes I made was to omit the fennel (don't like it) and we used cheddar cheese on regular wheat buns. The seasonings were perfect and comparable to what we'd order in a restuarant. WOW! Very good!!! My son said these were one of the best burgers he's ever had!!! I doubled the recipe and made 6 burgers. I used whole wheat Kaiser rolls.
Delicious beyond words. Extravegent to make with so much Parmesan and such large quantities of herbs, but well worth it for a special meal. Just an astonishing flavor. I didn't use the English muffins. I had ciabatta rolls -- which were perfect to soak up the juices and the pasta sauce. I think that if I didn't have those I'd use thick slices of a crusty, artisan bread.
