These cookies have a wonderful rich chocolate flavor. And the aroma! I had to beat my boyfriend and housemate away from the oven with a spatula while the cookies were baking. The "whatever" refers to the chips, nuts, candies you put in these cookies (I used holiday colored m&m's). This is adapted from a Hershey Kitchens recipe.

This really is a good basic chocolate cookie recipe. Like it says, you can add m & m's, reeses pieces (really good), or whatever. They do spread while cooking, 1 teaspoon ends up as a 2 inch cookie.

A friend of mine told me she was going to be baking some chocolate and cookies and would bring some to me. I was craving them by the time she came over with them. Unfortunatly they has so much chocolate in them I eat one. Then I found this recipe and decided to try them. These are great cookies. They have just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate. My boys helped me make these and they wanted to add walnuts and peanut butter m&m's. My only warning about these it that they get huge while they cook. The first batch I let the boys spoon them on and it ended up looking like one huge cookie. They did not care though. After that batch I could get 9 cookies on one cookie sheet with out them touching. But they are well worth it. Thanks for the recipe.
