I have been drinking this every day for about 6 weeks. I don't notice any change in my skin but it tastes great!
This is also a natural diuretic if you are trying to loss weight or have water gain. this is an AWESOME natural recipe.!! Although you are supposed to drink this water pretty hot, like your drinking coffee.
I can't say that I was a skeptic, more just the kind "I wanna see for myself". So I started drinking this about 6 days ago. I drink a cup every morning, and sometimes a cup at night too- just becasue I find it soothing and tasty. I noticed yesterday that my skin has really changed! I have never really had bad skin, no major breakouts (well, except those dreadful teenage years, and even that wasn't too bad). But as of yesterday my skin is almost...pretty! No more un-even splotches, my pores are smaller and in general my complexion is clearer. One of the moms in my playdate group asked me if I was pregnant again- so maybe I AM glowing! LOL Thanks for posting this!
I like to have a cup of this yummy drink before bed. It has a light taste and helps me sleep. If I am out of fresh lemon, I use the bottled lemon juice. I prefer the fresh lemon.
this is really good however its not sumthing new to me here in india according to ayurveda this concotion had first thing in the morning on an empty stomach gives u a slimmer body it also helps tone ur figure . Honey has many miraculous qualities wen mixed with warm water (acc to ayurveda) also i wud like to add for the past few days i had problems in sleeping well this also induces sleep n also i think its working well for my bronchitis my throat feels soothed n even minor respiratory problems dnt seem to bother .I have just had it for 2 days n i already feel good thanks a ton !!!!
Tastes good and is very soothing. It's a great comforting nighttime routine for me.
This tasted alot yummier than I expected! I guess since I'm not much of a "tea" person, and I've never had a honey drink-can you imagine? Anyway, I didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. What a nice, subtle cup of health. I hope I see the 'glowing skin' benefits, but who cares? It's going to be a new morning habit just because it's good and better for me than coffee! UPDATE: July 1st, 2007 I have had this EVERY morning since I first posted about 90 days ago. My skin is a different person! (LOL) and I have added as much as 2-3 more TBS of honey to the drink after hearing that honey is a cancer fighting food. It is an absolute MUST to start my day with this now. I really want to thank you KitchenManiac!
A little too sweet with all the honey for me, and for some reason I had in my head that it also called for ginger. I saved the ginger for another time and tried the recipe as it says - very good, next time I think I'll add only 1/2 TBL honey. Thanks for sharing!
I don't know about the detox effects, but I do enjoy drinking this when I want something hot but don't want tea or coffee.
I used this on and off since December. The honey certainly makes it more palatable, but I drink it without it. That is what is called for as a morning drink in the Fat Flush diet. According to the author of this diet, Ann Louise Gittleman, the lemon juice helps cleanse the liver which could explain why everyone's skin improves on this regimen. Highly recommended. This and the other components of the Fat Flush have helped me tremendously.
