Reviews

  1. I joined just to write and say how good this recipe is. The brownies are crisp on top and gooey in the center. I made the recipe exactly, just no chips, At 15 minutes, they were runny, and at 20 still needed a few more, so I cooked them for 22 minutes total. They are cakey but still nice and gooey in the center. Thanks so much for the recipe, I'll make them again.

  2. Very good brownies...thanks for the recipe! Topped it with a glaze while still warm from the oven.

  3. Loved these! I actually baked them on top of a peanut butter cookie dough. It took about 25 minutes to cook but oh so very good!

  4. I am a long time fan of the Baker's Chocolate one bowl brownies but this recipe has won me over. A very good cocoa and vanilla is important because with this number of ingredients you taste it - so, don't cheap out - get the best of both for the best results.

  5. Wonderful brownies. I added the chips as well as toasted walnuts. They come together so fast too- only a little over 1/2 an hour from start to finish. Just as fast as using a boxed mix really, and so much better. Mine took 23 minutes to bake. Thanks.

Tweaks

  1. I use brown sugar instead of regular sugar, added about a teaspoon and a half of instant espresso powder to the cocoa butter mixture. Also I browned the butter. I have a 9 x 9 pan, they will definitely be better in an 8 x 8. The baked in 16 minutes, very tasty.

  2. I had to bake an extra 5-10 minutes. used 8x11 glass pan

  3. I added chocolate chips and raspberries and it turned out delicious!

  4. I did sprinkle powder sugar - photo submitted.

  5. Very good chocolate taste. A nice little brownie. Did not use either walnuts or chocolate chips, wanted it "au naturel" the first time. Will however try both next time. Will also try substituting some butter with applesauce. A good recipe to play around with. This baked for 15 minutes and using a 9x9 inch pan I cut the brownie into 12 squares. A little note to myself for the next time, 1/2 cup of butter equals approximately 80 grams. Thanks for posting.
