These are just like the Indian Taco's we used to buy at the county fair from from the local tribe....one of the only reasons I went to the fair!Thank you for posting a great recipe. The frybread is good sprinkled with cinnamon sugar,or drizzled with honey....Yum!

I have just tried my first Inidian Fry Bread tacos and it was great! Can a lower fat version be made of it...and if so does it taste as good.

Karen, I made this recipe last night and dh and I really, really enjoyed it. I liked the addition of the rice which was different from the other recipes posted. Only thing I did different was to leave out the kidney beans. We do not care for them so we heated some refried beans, spread it on the warm fry bread and then topped that with your recipe. Boy oh boy, were they ever good. The fry bread was just perfect. Really a very nice change from regular tacos and we will be having these quite often. Thanks!

The first time I ever had an Indian Taco was at the Red Earth Indian Festival in Oklahoma City, and it was phenomenal! Perhaps my expectations were a little high with this recipe, but I really didn't find anything outstanding about it. LOTS of prep for just a mediocre meal. The leftover meat sauce does make a great mexican omelet the next day though!

These were delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe. The fry bread that gets topped with all the goodies was a tasty way to make tacos.

Divinemom5 is right, just like I had at the New Mexico State Fair Indian Village! So good, and when I'm homesick these definitely take the edge off! Thank you!
