The mixture is served chilled. Raita has a cooling effect on the palate that makes it a good choice along with spicy foods such as currys. Raita is also eaten with kebabs.
- 1 cup cucumber, grated
- 1 cup plain 1% yogurt
- 2 tablespoons mint, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- salt and pepper
- Grate cucumber and let sit in strainer over a bowl for about 30 minutes.
- Place cucumber and remaining ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine.

I made half of this recipe and used it as a dip for sugar snap peas, yellow peppers and yellow cherry tomatoes. What a healthy dish! I did cut back on the mint, just because of personal preference. Made for Went To The Market tag game. Thanks Deantini! :)
