This recipe did not work for me (I used butter softened) it came out like cookie dough...I'm trying to salvage it by making cookies now- I don't recommend
Sorry, have to disagree. This was awful. The dough was too stiff -- like cookie dough, not quick bread dough -- and by the time the centre was cooked, the outside was overdone. Perhaps if the apple was shredded it would work better ...
This bread recipe is nothing like what I'm use to making. The mixture is very thick. So thick it bent my spoon. It still cooks fine but I'll probably never make it again. The only flavor is in the apples.
Batter was extremely thick. I used 3 nice size apples and baked in muffin tins. Delicious. Falling apart moist. Didn't need butter.
I was a little worried given how thick the batter turned out, but overall this was very good. It certainly wasn't the moistest bread ever, but it had good texture and we liked it. I think next time I would make a buttery topping as the cinnamon and sugar didn't blend well.
Something is missing from this recipe. Altho I added applesauce, there must be a liquid ingredient missing. Even with the applesauce, the bread is dry although the apples were delicious. Look for another recipe. DON'T BOTHER!
It's easy. I had a little more than 2 cups of apples, no nuts, and used a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Taste great!
Very easily prepared, (and I'm not a particularly good baker), this smells fantastic and tastes even better. My DH and my daughters boyfriend were into this before it had even properly cooled down! I can see one loaf will not last long! A really nice apple bread, I didn't add the nuts because my younger daughter doesnt like them, but if I were sure that she wouldnt be having any, I think they'd be a nice addition, I would add walnuts. Thank you Penny, this definitely is a keeper recipe and I'm glad to have found it. This recipe was made for Alphabet Chef tag game.
